VP Radhakrishnan Inspires Specially-Abled Students
Vice-President urges students to dream big, embrace technology and believe in their abilities during Itanagar visit

Itanagar, 10th Sept: Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan visited the Donyi-Polo Mission School for the Hearing, Visually and Intellectually Impaired at Chimpu, Itanagar, on Wednesday and interacted with students, teachers and staff.
Addressing the students, Radhakrishnan said his visit filled him with a deep sense of emotion and patriotism, particularly after listening to the students’ rendition of “Vande Mataram”. He said the song was sung with such sincerity that he could feel the patriotism “coming from the heart” of the students.
The Vice-President urged the students never to allow anyone to define the limits of their dreams. “Every individual is unique. Every individual possesses talent,” he said, encouraging them to dream big, believe in themselves and work hard.
Referring to the journey of Shri Srikanth Bolla, he encouraged the students to draw inspiration from people who have overcome challenges.
Radhakrishnan said institutions such as the Donyi-Polo Mission School provide more than education by offering hope, dignity, opportunity, confidence and self-reliance. He said such institutions contribute to building an inclusive Viksit Bharat @ 2047.
Highlighting the role of technology, the Vice-President said Artificial Intelligence, digital tools and assistive technologies can help overcome barriers and make education more accessible and personalised. He appreciated the institution’s initiatives towards AI-enabled learning materials and holistic support for students.
He also commended teachers, rehabilitation professionals and staff for their patience, compassion and commitment in nurturing children with special needs, while acknowledging the important role of parents in supporting their children.
Concluding his interaction, Radhakrishnan said, “Today, you have taught me a lot of things,” expressing his appreciation for the students and their determination.
The Vice-President was accompanied by Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik, Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment and Tribal Affairs Konto Jini and senior State officials.
Earlier, Radhakrishnan visited the J. N. State Museum in Itanagar and appreciated its role in preserving and showcasing the ethnographic heritage of Arunachal Pradesh and the North-East. He said such institutions serve as bridges between generations and help safeguard cultural heritage and foster pride in indigenous traditions.
