The facility marks a step towards strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s textile and apparel manufacturing sector while expanding opportunities for industrial growth in the region.

The predominantly women-led initiative also aims to encourage greater participation of women in the workforce and support employment generation through garment manufacturing.

Varanasi Set to Join Global Apparel Supply Chains
With Arvind Limited serving customers across international markets, the new facility is expected to help garments manufactured in Varanasi reach global markets.

The development is also expected to support India’s textile and apparel manufacturing ecosystem and strengthen the region’s integration into international supply chains.

The inauguration comes as the government continues to focus on manufacturing-led growth and attracting investment beyond established industrial centres.

Varanasi Prepares for IAF’s ‘Wings Over Ganges’
During his visit to his parliamentary constituency, Modi is also scheduled to attend the Indian Air Force’s aerial display, Wings Over Ganges, at Namo Ghat. The event is part of celebrations marking the IAF’s 94th anniversary.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh welcomed the Prime Minister to Varanasi and said the display would showcase the valour and capabilities of the Indian Air Force.

In a post on X, Singh described Kashi as a symbol of a strong, self-reliant and resurgent India.

Surya Kiran Team Takes to the Skies
Ahead of the scheduled aerial display, the Indian Air Force’s Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team performed over Varanasi.

The event is expected to feature the Surya Kiran team and the Sarang Helicopter Display Team, alongside a range of aircraft, including the Tejas, Light Combat Helicopter Prachand, IL-76, IL-78, C-295 and AN-32.

Frontline fighter aircraft such as the Su-30MKI and Rafale are also scheduled to participate. Aircraft from the Indian Navy and Indian Army are expected to join the display, highlighting joint operational capabilities.

The twin events place Varanasi in focus for both industrial development and a major showcase of India’s military aviation capabilities.
