Jaishankar to lead India delegation at UNGA High-Level Week
EAM S. Jaishankar will address the UN General Assembly on September 26 and hold bilateral and plurilateral meetings

UNITED NATIONS/NEW YORK – The Ministry of External Affairs announced on Sunday that the External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will lead the Indian delegation for the High-Level Week at the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly in New York
Jaishankar will address the High-Level Session debate on September 26, MEA stated.
He will also attend various plurilateral meetings and will also have bilateral talks with a number of foreign ministers on the sidelines of the UNGA, MEA said in a press release.
The 81st session of the UNGA opened on September 8 and the General Debate at the UNGA starts on Tuesday 22nd- will end on the 29th.
World leaders will convene in New York to discuss solutions to the world’s most pressing global issues, from climate change, AI to global health to peace, security, and humanitarian response.
The race for new UN Secretary-General is certain to dominate the conversation during the UNGA 81 session as momentum builds toward the selection of the organization’s next leader.
UNGA is also expected to give a critical push to achive the Sustainable Development Goals and collective action for peace, dignity and equality on a healthy planet by deadline 2030 which is falling way behind.
