New Delhi, 5th Oct: A special religious ceremony was organised at the famous Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place, New Delhi, praying for the speedy recovery and good health of Captain Smitt Machchhar. The programme was organised by the National Parshuram Parishad and included a havan, Maha Mrityunjaya Jaap and recitation of the Hanuman Chalisa.

The religious gathering was held with the objective of collectively praying for Captain Smitt Machchhar’s early recovery and better health. Devotees and members associated with the parishad participated in the rituals with श्रद्धा and faith, offering prayers for his well-being.

The ceremony took place at the Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place, one of Delhi’s prominent religious places. During the programme, Vedic chants and traditional rituals were performed, with prayers specifically dedicated to Captain Smitt Machchhar’s health and speedy recovery.

Connaught Place is among Delhi’s major public and commercial areas and is also an important centre of religious faith because of the Hanuman Temple located there. The prayer programme witnessed the participation of devotees and members associated with the National Parshuram Parishad.

Maha Mrityunjaya Jaap for health and longevity
A major part of the religious programme was the Maha Mrityunjaya Jaap. In Hindu religious tradition, the chanting of the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra is associated with prayers for health, longevity and relief from difficulties.

With the same faith, members of the National Parshuram Parishad prayed for Captain Smitt Machchhar’s speedy recovery. During the chanting, participants prayed that he recover soon and return to normal life.

The programme was attended by Pt. Sunil Bharala, former minister in the Uttar Pradesh government and founder of the National Parshuram Parishad. He participated in the religious ceremony and prayed for Captain Smitt Machchhar’s speedy recovery.

His presence added significance to the gathering, as he joined other participants in the religious rituals and collective prayers for Machchhar’s health.

Rajnish Tyagi, Delhi Pradesh president of the National Parshuram Parishad, was also present at the programme. He participated in the havan, puja and prayers along with other office-bearers and workers of the organisation.

They recalled the circumstances in which, according to reports, he risked his life and helped prevent an aircraft from being hijacked, thereby protecting the lives of hundreds of passengers. During the struggle and emergency, he reportedly suffered several serious injuries.

The participants said that his dedication to the country and the act that brought recognition to India at the international level had earned widespread appreciation. They expressed solidarity with him and prayed for his recovery.

Captain Smitt Machchhar’s role in September 2026 flight emergency
Captain Smitt Machchhar is an Indian-origin flydubai pilot who, in September 2026, reportedly demonstrated exceptional courage, presence of mind and professional capability during a serious and challenging situation on flight FZ1073 travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv.

According to reports cited during the programme, an emergency developed during the flight, and Machchhar, despite sustaining injuries, managed to retain control of the aircraft and ensure the safety of the passengers on board.

His actions were regarded as significant in preventing a major tragedy and protecting the lives of more than 174 passengers.

Even under extremely difficult circumstances, he is said to have prioritised his duty and the safety of those on board.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also spoke with Captain Smitt Machchhar following the incident, praised his courage and wished him a speedy recovery.

The religious ceremony in New Delhi was organised against this backdrop, with members of the National Parshuram Parishad, devotees and other participants coming together to offer prayers for his health and early recovery.
