Ashoknagar/Chanderi, 17th Oct: Union Minister for Communications and Development of the North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya Scindia said central and Madhya Pradesh government welfare schemes are helping strengthen villages and improve the lives of rural families.
Addressing a village meeting in Semarkhedi village under the Chanderi Assembly constituency in Ashoknagar district on Saturday, Scindia highlighted the role of public welfare initiatives in making rural communities more empowered and self-reliant. He credited the initiatives led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav in Madhya Pradesh for extending benefits to farmers, women, economically weaker families and other rural residents.
On the second day of his visit to Ashoknagar in his Guna parliamentary constituency, Scindia interacted directly with villagers, farmers and women to understand the implementation of various government schemes. He also spoke with beneficiaries to learn about their experiences and the changes they had observed in their daily lives.
Scindia emphasised that welfare schemes must reach every eligible beneficiary, particularly those at the grassroots level. He said public participation was essential to the development process and that the real objective of government programmes could be achieved only when their benefits translated into meaningful improvements in people’s lives.
Bullock Cart Ride Draws Attention
During the village meeting, Scindia also displayed his connection with rural life by taking a ride on a decorated bullock cart to encourage a farmer. Wearing a colourful turban, the minister stood on the cart and greeted villagers, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm among those present. A large number of villagers, party workers and supporters attended the programme.
Beneficiaries Share Their Experiences
Scindia held discussions with women, farmers and other residents to understand their needs, concerns and expectations. He sought feedback on the benefits they had received from government schemes and asked about the impact of welfare programmes and basic infrastructure facilities in rural areas.
The village outreach programme provided an opportunity for the minister to assess the ground-level implementation of welfare initiatives and engage directly with residents on local development priorities.
