New Delhi, 31st Oct: The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has concluded its participation in Special Campaign 6.0, conducted from October 2 to 31, with a focus on institutionalising cleanliness, reducing pendency and improving administrative efficiency.

The campaign, steered by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), aimed to promote cleanliness in government offices, strengthen record management, dispose of pending matters and ensure better utilisation of office space.

During the preparatory phase, the Ministry identified targets related to file management, workplace cleanliness and disposal of obsolete materials. Focused efforts were subsequently undertaken to achieve these targets during the implementation phase.

58 Physical Files Weeded Out, 117 E-Files Closed
As part of the record management drive, the Ministry reviewed 134 identified physical files, of which 58 were identified for weeding out and subsequently disposed of.

It also reviewed 200 e-files and closed 117 of them. The exercise was aimed at streamlining administrative processes and improving the management of official records.

Focus on Cleanliness and Workplace Management
The campaign placed emphasis on maintaining clean, organised and efficient workplaces. Senior officers, under the leadership of the Secretary and Additional Secretary of the Ministry, conducted inspections across various sections and offices to assess sanitation and cleanliness standards.

The Ministry also stressed the need to make cleanliness an integral part of routine office functioning beyond the campaign period.

Digital Platforms Promote Paperless Governance
The Ministry continued its efforts to strengthen digital and paperless governance through platforms such as e-Office, e-HRMS, Consultative Committee Management System, Sub-ordinate Legislation Management System, National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA), OAMS and the National Youth Parliament Portal.

NeVA, a flagship initiative of the Ministry, supports paperless functioning in State Legislatures and facilitates more efficient legislative processes.

The Ministry said the campaign had reinforced its focus on systematic record management, digital transformation and sustainable workplace practices. It will continue these initiatives beyond the campaign period as part of its day-to-day administrative functioning.
