New Delhi, 12th May: Union Minister Jitendra Singh will chair the 16th Pension Adalat at Vigyan Bhawan on May 13 to address long-pending pension-related grievances of central government pensioners.
The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare said 985 pension grievances pending for over 45 days on the CPENGRAMS portal would be taken up for “on-the-spot” redressal during the Adalat.
The grievances relate to 37 ministries and departments, with a majority linked to the Ministries of Defence and Home Affairs.
‘Whole of Government’ Approach
The Pension Adalat functions on a “Whole of Government approach”, bringing all concerned stakeholders onto a common platform for immediate grievance resolution.
Officials said the initiative helps pensioners avoid lengthy court procedures and provides quicker and more effective settlement of pension-related disputes.
The Department said Pension Adalats have emerged as a major platform for resolving complicated and long-pending pension cases since the initiative began in 2017.
Over 27,000 Cases Taken Up
According to official data, 15 Pension Adalats held so far have taken up 27,812 cases, of which 19,948 were resolved on the spot.
The Department said the initiative has recorded a success rate of more than 71.72 per cent, while remaining cases were resolved later through inter-ministerial review meetings.
Pensioners from across the country are expected to participate in the 16th Pension Adalat through hybrid mode.
The government said the initiative reflects its commitment towards prompt and qualitative grievance redressal for pensioners.
