Keshav Chandra Takes Charge as Mines Secretary
New Secretary reviews key initiatives, stresses coordinated efforts to strengthen India's mineral sector

New Delhi, 27th July: Keshav Chandra, IAS (1995 batch, AGMUT cadre), on Monday assumed charge as Secretary, Ministry of Mines, Government of India.
Soon after taking charge, Chandra chaired a review meeting with senior officials of the Ministry to assess the progress of key programmes and ongoing initiatives in the mining and mineral sector.
During the meeting, officials briefed the new Secretary on initiatives related to mineral exploration, auction and operationalisation of mineral blocks, critical and strategic minerals, and other priority areas of the Ministry.
Chandra emphasised the need for coordinated efforts and effective implementation of the Ministry’s flagship initiatives to strengthen India’s mineral sector and support its long-term resource security and economic growth.
