Mathura, 2nd Oct: The Sri Krishna Janmasthan Sewa Sansthan in Mathura will introduce a computerised testing machine to determine the purity of metal donations received at the temple, with the initiative aimed at bringing greater transparency to the donation process.
Sewa Sansthan Secretary Kapil Sharma said on Friday that the machine can test the presence of 20 different metals and is expected to become operational from Navratri, beginning October 11.
The purity test will be conducted in the presence of the donor, who will receive a copy of the test report along with the donation receipt. The donor will also be required to sign the report, which will carry their mobile phone number. A copy will be preserved in the Sewa Sansthan’s archives.
According to Sharma, the machine can assess the purity of metal without damaging or breaking the donated item, allowing it to be tested in its original form.
All metal donations received through hundis or donation boxes will be tested during the counting process under CCTV surveillance and according to the prescribed procedures.
The temple trust has also put in place other measures to strengthen transparency in donation counting. The counting room is monitored by advanced CCTV cameras, while the process is conducted in the presence of workers, security guards and independent observers.
CCTV recordings of the counting process are preserved for six months, Sharma said.
