Prime Minister Reaffirms Commitment to Deepening India-Peru Partnership Following Fujimori's Presidential Win

New Delhi, 4th July: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday congratulated Keiko Fujimori on her victory in Peru’s presidential election and reaffirmed India’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties across diverse sectors.

In a message posted on X, Modi said India deeply values its longstanding friendship with Peru and looks forward to working closely with Fujimori to further deepen cooperation for the benefit of the people of both nations.

The Prime Minister wished Fujimori a successful tenure and said India remains committed to expanding bilateral engagement in areas of mutual interest, reflecting the strong and friendly relationship between the two countries.

Fujimori was officially declared the winner of Peru’s presidential election after securing a narrow victory over her rival, marking her first successful presidential bid after three previous attempts. She is scheduled to assume office on July 28.

India and Peru have steadily expanded cooperation in trade, investment, mining, health, education and multilateral forums in recent years, with both countries expressing interest in further strengthening strategic and economic engagement.
