New Delhi, 16th Aug: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his Punya Tithi, remembering him as an extraordinary statesman whose visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to public service continue to inspire the nation.
In a message shared on X, the Prime Minister said Vajpayee dedicated his entire life to the service of the country and left behind a lasting legacy of leadership, good governance and public welfare.
“Remembering Atal Ji on his Punya Tithi. An extraordinary statesman blessed with remarkable vision, he dedicated his life to the service of our nation. His words and efforts inspired generations and his leadership strengthened our nation. His focus on good governance and public welfare will always continue to guide us,” Modi said.
Later in the day, the Prime Minister visited Sadaiv Atal, the memorial dedicated to the former Prime Minister in New Delhi, and paid floral tributes.
Sharing photographs of the visit, Modi said Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s contribution to India’s progress remains unparalleled.
“Earlier this morning, paid homage to Atal Ji at Sadaiv Atal. His role in India’s progress is unparalleled!” the Prime Minister wrote on X.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee, one of India’s most respected political leaders and a former Prime Minister, is remembered for his statesmanship, inclusive governance and pivotal role in shaping India’s development and foreign policy. Leaders across the political spectrum paid homage to him on his death anniversary, recalling his enduring contribution to nation-building.
