India to Host BRICS Environment Ministers’ Meet in Delhi
BRICS nations to discuss climate action, sustainability and environmental cooperation on August 17-18

New Delhi, 16th Aug: India will host the 12th BRICS Environment Ministers’ Meeting at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, on August 18, bringing together member countries to strengthen cooperation on environmental protection, climate change and sustainable development.
The ministerial meeting will be preceded by the Senior Officers’ Meeting of the BRICS Environment Working Group and the Contact Group on Climate Change and Sustainable Development on August 17.
The two-day event is being organised under the overarching theme of India’s BRICS Chairship 2026 — “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability.”
According to the Ministry of Environment, the meetings will provide a platform for BRICS member countries to deliberate on shared environmental priorities, enhance collaboration on climate-related challenges and promote sustainable development initiatives.
The discussions are expected to focus on strengthening cooperation among BRICS nations to build resilient ecosystems, encourage innovation in environmental governance and advance collective efforts towards a sustainable future.
India’s hosting of the meetings reflects its commitment to fostering multilateral cooperation on environmental issues and reinforcing the BRICS partnership in addressing global climate and sustainability challenges.
