New Delhi, 25th June: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday met Amazon Chief Executive Officer Andy Jassy in New Delhi and welcomed the company’s record $48 billion investment in India, describing it as a strong vote of confidence in the country’s growth story.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister said the investment would generate new employment opportunities for India’s youth while reinforcing India’s position as a preferred global investment destination.

In a post on X, Modi said, “A great meeting with Mr. Andy Jassy. I welcome Amazon’s record $48 billion investment in India. This will create new opportunities for our youth. At the same time, it shows the growing interest across the world to invest in India.”

The Prime Minister highlighted that increasing global investments in India reflect confidence in the country’s economic reforms, expanding digital economy and business-friendly environment.

The meeting comes as India continues to attract major international investments across technology, manufacturing and digital services, with the government focusing on boosting innovation, employment and long-term economic growth.
