In a post on X, the Prime Minister said the launch marks the opening of a new frontier for India’s space ambitions and reflects the country’s growing strength in innovation, technology and entrepreneurship.

Scheduled for launch at 11:30 a.m., the four-stage Vikram-1 rocket has been designed to provide rapid, on-demand launch services for satellites, making it a significant step in India’s expanding private space ecosystem.

Modi said the mission showcases the talent, determination and entrepreneurial spirit of India’s youth while highlighting the impact of the government’s space sector reforms in creating new opportunities for innovation and enterprise.

“My best wishes to the entire Skyroot Aerospace team for a successful launch. May Vikram-1 soar high, create history and inspire a generation of innovators,” the Prime Minister said.

He also urged citizens, particularly young people, to follow the mission and extend their support to the Skyroot Aerospace team using the hashtag #IndiaWithVikram1.

The launch of Vikram-1 is regarded as a landmark moment for India’s private space industry, with Skyroot Aerospace becoming the first private Indian company to attempt an orbital launch vehicle mission.
