Railways Approves ₹270 Cr Kavach Project on East Coast Routes

New Delhi, 22nd June: Indian Railways has approved a ₹270 crore project to deploy the indigenous Kavach train protection system on 631 route kilometres of East Coast Railway.

The system will be installed across six key sections and will help prevent signal violations, over-speeding and train collisions. Kavach will also ensure safer and more reliable train operations, especially during challenging weather conditions.

The project is part of Indian Railways’ larger initiative to expand the indigenous Automatic Train Protection system across important railway routes.
