Hyderabad, 21st Sept: Telangana entrepreneur K Shobha Reddy, proprietor of Hyderabad-based Mithuna Ads, has alleged that a person she believed was closely associated with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy asked her to visit a guest house to discuss her representation concerning the outdoor advertising sector.
Reddy made the allegation in a post on X addressed to the Chief Minister, saying she had been seeking a lawful and fair opportunity to operate in the outdoor advertising business for the past three years. She said she had submitted revenue-sharing proposals seeking a temporary arrangement until regular tenders are conducted.
According to Reddy, some advertising structures continued despite notices and unresolved compliance issues while her proposals remained pending. She also alleged that pilot projects and exemptions or relaxations under G.O.Ms.No. 68 had been granted in certain cases.
Entrepreneur seeks transparent process
Reddy said she did not want to name the person or make personal allegations. However, she questioned why discussions concerning her business representation were allegedly sought at a guest house rather than through official channels.
She said that, as a woman entrepreneur seeking a lawful business opportunity, she believed such matters should be handled through proper, transparent and dignified channels.
Reddy also clarified that she was not seeking special treatment. She said her demand was limited to a lawful opportunity, equal treatment and dignity.
BRS questions alleged meeting
The allegation has drawn a political response from the opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). Party leader M Krishank questioned Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over the alleged interaction and sought clarity on the identity of the person described by Reddy as being closely associated with the Chief Minister.
Krishank also questioned why the entrepreneur was allegedly asked to meet at a guest house while seeking action concerning G.O.Ms.No. 68.
The controversy has since widened, with opposition leaders calling for transparency over the allegations. However, the claims made by Reddy have not been independently established.
As of September 21, there has been no specific public response from the Telangana government, the Chief Minister’s Office, the Congress party or the police addressing the allegations or identifying the person referred to in Reddy’s post.
