WASHINGTON: India Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri will visit Washington from 8–10 April to review the full spectrum of India–US bilateral relations and advance ongoing cooperation across key areas, MEA stated in a press release issued on Tuesday.

Misri will hold discussions with senior officials of the U.S. Administration on a wide range of issues, including trade, defence, science and technology, as well as regional and global developments of mutual interest, the Ministry of External Affairs said.

The visit follows External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar’s visit to Washington in February and is in keeping with the regular high-level exchanges between the two sides, it stated.

It will provide the Indian diplomat an opportunity to discuss with his American interlocutors the progress in finalising a trade deal between the two countries, which has been hanging fire for over a year.

India is also expected to raise with the Trump administration the challenges it has been facing on the energy front in view of the ongoing war in West Asia.
