Needonomics for Sustainable Development Takes Center Stage at National Conference at S.D. (PG) College, Panipat

Panipat, April 08: One-day multidisciplinary national conference sponsored by the Higher Education Department, Government of Haryana on the topic ‘Synergizing Commerce, Economics and Management for Sustainable Development’ was organized SD PG College Panipat.Prof. (Dr.) MM Goel, former Vice Chancellor (three times) and founder of Nedonomics  School of Thought shared his knowledge with the faculty, research scholars and students as key-note speaker.

Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Kumar, Dean Academic Affairs and Chairperson Computer Department and Applications, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra joined as chief guest. Later,Dr. Shefali Nagpal, Director, UGC Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre, BPSMV Khanpur Kalan, Sonipat, Prof. (Dr.) Subhash Chand, Department of Commerce, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra and Dr. Prerna Dabur Saluja, Director Training, Geeta Institute of Law & Dean Welfare, Geeta University, Panipat, enthralled everyone with their lectures.

The honorable guests were welcomed by College President Dinesh Goyal, General Secretary Mahendra Agarwal, Principal Dr. Anupam Arora and Head of the Department of Commerce Dr. Rakesh Garg by presenting them with potted saplings. 168 delegates registered themselvesfor the conference, including researchers and professors from far-flung states like West Bengal, Chennai, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Delhi, and Rajasthan and presented their research papers.

Speaking in Nedonomics, Prof. M.M. Goel emphasized the urgent need to rethink prevailing development paradigms amid escalating global challenges, noting that conventional models driven by wealth accumulation and consumption have fostered inequality, environmental degradation, and a widening gap between material advancement and human well-being. Nedonomics is the ‘queen’ of social sciences, coordinating strategy, accomplishment and liberation and thus being both necessary and sufficient for sustainable development, asserted Dr MM Goel.
