Guwahati ,Assam, 9th April : The voting process for the Assam Legislative Assembly elections saw an impressive voter turnout, with 75.91% of eligible voters casting their ballots by 3 PM across the state. Highest Voter Turnout in South Salmara-Mankachar District

Among all districts, South Salmara-Mankachar recorded the highest voter turnout at 84.24%. Both rural and urban voters in the district arrived at polling stations with great enthusiasm, ensuring their voices were heard in the democratic process. The impressive turnout underscores the region’s commitment to active civic engagement and the significance attached to each vote.

Lowest Voter Turnout in Kamrup Metro District

In contrast, Kamrup Metro district registered the lowest voter turnout, with only 65.30% of voters participating by 3 PM. Despite this comparatively lower figure, there was a noticeable increase in voter presence throughout the day, particularly in urban areas, reflecting a growing sense of responsibility among the electorate.
