Two Indians Shot Dead Near Gurdwara in Italy

WASHINGTON – According to preliminary investigation on Sunday the police have ruled out a sudden brawl and suspect a “coldly planned execution”.

Two Indian men were shot dead in a shocking incident near Gurdwara Mata Sahib Kaur Ji in the industrial area of Bergamo town of the Lombardy region in Italy’s Covo, local media reported on Sunday.

The incident occurred late on Friday night and another person was also injured in the attack, media reported.

The victims have been identified as Raginder Singh, 48, a resident of Covo, and Gurmit Singh, from Agnadello, reported Italian daily La Sicilia.

The assailant suspected to be an “Indian”, approached the men and opened fire. He fled the scene before the arrival of the police, it added.

The shooter reportedly fired 10 shots, left the victims dead on the spot.

The incident has left the Sikh community members in Lombardy and Bergamo in shock.

An investigation is underway into the incident, with video surveillance images being examined, witnesses being interviewed, and evidence being analyzed.
