Varanasi, 29th April: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday held a massive roadshow in Varanasi, drawing huge crowds across the city during the second day of his two-day visit.

The 14-kilometre procession began from Banaras Locomotive Works and passed through major city points including Lahartara, Kachahri, Ambedkar Chauraha, Chaukaghat, Teliyabag, Lahurabir and Maidagin before culminating at the sacred Kashi Vishwanath Temple.

At the temple, Modi performed prayers and rituals amid Vedic chants before being welcomed by local representatives with symbolic offerings including a trishul and damru.

As devotees chanted “Har Har Mahadev” and “Jai Shri Ram,” the Prime Minister greeted supporters by waving and folding his hands, while also briefly interacting with children at the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor.

Party leaders described the event as one of the largest roadshows ever witnessed in Varanasi, with BJP workers, supporters and residents gathering in large numbers along the route.

The visit further reinforced Varanasi’s importance as both Modi’s parliamentary constituency and a key symbol of cultural-national political outreach.

Following the Varanasi programme, the Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the ₹36,230 crore Ganga Expressway, further blending spiritual symbolism with major infrastructure development.
