New Delhi, 10th June: Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan on Wednesday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming India’s longest continuously serving elected Prime Minister, describing the achievement as a historic milestone in the nation’s democratic journey.
In a message shared on social media, the Vice-President said the landmark reflected a transformative period in India’s development under Modi’s leadership and vision.
Radhakrishnan said the country has witnessed progress across sectors including economic growth, infrastructure development, social empowerment and technological advancement during the Prime Minister’s tenure.
He also highlighted India’s enhanced global standing and renewed civilisational confidence as defining features of the period.
The Vice-President noted that more than 25 crore people had been lifted out of absolute poverty through various welfare and development initiatives, bringing dignity and opportunities to millions of families.
Praising the Prime Minister’s efforts to strengthen India’s cultural identity, Radhakrishnan said Modi has played a significant role in preserving and promoting the country’s civilisational heritage.
He cited initiatives such as the Kashi Tamil Sangamam, Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam, installation of the Sengol in the new Parliament building, the Prime Minister’s visit to Gangaikonda Cholapuram and the repatriation of valuable artefacts from abroad as examples of efforts aimed at reinforcing India’s cultural legacy.
Referring to Modi’s invocation of the Tamil phrase “Yaadhum Oore, Yaavarum Kelir” at the United Nations, the Vice-President said it reflected India’s timeless philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” and its message of global brotherhood.
Describing Modi as a leader who has inspired confidence in the nation’s capabilities through tireless service and unwavering commitment to “Rashtra Pratham” (Nation First), Radhakrishnan said the Prime Minister has emerged as a true “Yug Purush” of contemporary India.
He added that as the country advances towards the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047, Modi’s leadership continues to inspire millions and serve as a guiding force for India’s future.
The Vice-President also conveyed his best wishes to the Prime Minister for his continued service to the nation.
