New Delhi, 12th June: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron will jointly inaugurate Bharat Innovates 2026 on June 14 at the Palais des Expositions in Nice, France, marking a major step in strengthening India-France cooperation in innovation, deep technology and entrepreneurship.

Organised by the Union Ministry of Education, Bharat Innovates 2026 will bring together 120 Indian innovators, around 15 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), more than 500 investors, leading corporates, venture capital firms, global CEOs and industry leaders.

The event will showcase India’s growing innovation ecosystem across 13 strategic sectors, including advanced computing, semiconductors, space technology, biotechnology, energy, healthcare and manufacturing.

Prime Minister Modi is expected to be accompanied by External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India Ajay Kumar Sood, who headed the Technical Oversight Committee responsible for selecting the 120 participating startups, is also expected to attend.

The maiden edition of Bharat Innovates is aimed at connecting Indian startups and innovators with global investors, corporations, research institutions, universities and government stakeholders. The platform is expected to facilitate investments, technology validation, co-development projects, pilot initiatives, manufacturing partnerships and international market expansion for Indian innovations.

Several key outcomes are anticipated during the summit, including stronger collaboration frameworks in deep technology, research and development, startup scaling and cross-border investment facilitation.

The event will also explore new opportunities for institutional partnerships between Indian and French innovation ecosystems, focusing on technology exchange, co-development and acceleration of emerging technologies.

Officials said Bharat Innovates 2026 is expected to deepen India’s engagement with global innovation networks and strengthen its position as a leading hub for technology-driven growth, innovation and entrepreneurship.

The event is being organised under the India-France Year of Innovation, which was jointly inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi and President Macron in Mumbai in February 2026.
