New Delhi, 17th June: Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that the national launch of Viksit Bharat–Rozgar aur Aajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) will be held from Andhra Pradesh on July 1, 2026.
The announcement came during his meeting with Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, where the two leaders reviewed rural development programmes, employment generation, livelihood initiatives and implementation of Central schemes in the state.
Chouhan said Andhra Pradesh’s innovations in model panchayats, sustainable development and community participation would become examples for other states. He added that Rural Development Ministers from all states and Union Territories would join the launch programme virtually from field locations.
Pawan Kalyan said almost all works under rural development schemes in the state have been geo-tagged, while a face recognition-based beneficiary verification system is nearly complete to ensure transparency.
He also thanked the Centre for providing an interim amount of over Rs 7,700 crore under the VB-G RAM G initiative. The meeting also discussed support for coastal model panchayats, coffee plantation-based livelihoods and vehicle procurement for women Self-Help Groups under the DAY-NRLM scheme.
