Guwahati ,Assam 7th October :Hindu leader and former Vishwa Hindu Parishad stalwart Ashok Singhal was held on Sunday at the Sri Sri Damodardev International Auditorium of Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Panjabari, Guwahati.
The programme, which began at 4 pm, witnessed the presence of saints, Satradhikars, social leaders, organisational workers and a large gathering of people from different sections of society.
Sri Sri Janardan Dev Goswami, Satradhikar of Uttar Kamalabari Satra, attended the programme as the Chief Guest. Assam Health Minister Ashok Singhal was present as the Special Guest, while Vinayak Rao Deshpande, Central Joint General Secretary (Organisation) of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, addressed the gathering as the keynote speaker.
Remembering Ashok Singhal’s Contribution
The programme remembered Ashok Singhal as a leader known for his dedication, organisational abilities and close association with the Sant community.
Speakers recalled his role in mobilising Hindu society and particularly highlighted his contribution to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. They said the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya represents the culmination of a movement to which Singhal devoted a significant part of his public life.
His efforts towards strengthening dialogue between religious leaders and wider society, as well as promoting social harmony, were also highlighted during the programme. 
Message of Social Harmony and Collective Responsibility
One of the central features of the event was the presence of saints, Mahatmas, Satradhikars and representatives from different sections of society on a common platform.
According to the organisers, the programme was not merely a commemoration of Ashok Singhal’s birth centenary but also an effort to carry his ideals of dedication, social harmony and collective responsibility to future generations.
Workers from the Mahanagar, Prakhand and Khand levels played an important role in making the programme successful. From extending invitations and managing arrangements to coordinating the event, volunteers worked collectively to ensure its smooth conduct.
The organising committee expressed gratitude to all workers and members of the public who participated in the programme, saying that their cooperation, dedication and sense of responsibility made the event a success.
The programme concluded with a message of unity, devotion and social harmony, accompanied by chants of “Jai Shri Ram.”
