New Delhi, 7th Oct: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday completed 25 continuous years as Head of Government, marking a rare political milestone that drew congratulations from leaders across continents.

Modi first assumed office as Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001 and has remained at the helm of government since then, becoming Prime Minister in 2014. In their messages, world leaders highlighted his leadership, commitment to development, governance and India’s growing role on the global stage.

Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay described Modi as “an avatar of our times” and linked his leadership with the vision of Viksit Bharat. Tobgay said enlightened leadership combines wisdom, compassion and courage through selfless service.

Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu described 25 years of uninterrupted leadership as a rare achievement in any democracy. He credited Modi with helping transform Gujarat and contributing to India’s emergence as one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing economies.

Tinubu also highlighted India-Nigeria cooperation in trade and investment, energy, defence and security, health, education and technology. He recalled Modi’s 2024 visit to Abuja, during which Nigeria conferred its Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger on the Indian Prime Minister.

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. congratulated Modi for completing 25 years of continuous public service and praised his emphasis on good governance, innovation, technology, infrastructure and development. He also pointed to the growing India-Philippines strategic partnership.

Nepal’s Prime Minister extended warm congratulations and best wishes to Modi, wishing the Indian government continued success and prosperity.

Botswana President Duma Gideon Boko praised Modi’s dedication and service to the people of India and expressed hope for an enduring friendship between the two countries.

Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever congratulated Modi on 25 years of continuous leadership, from Gujarat to New Delhi, and said he looked forward to further deepening the India-Belgium partnership.

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi highlighted Modi’s political leadership since 2001, saying it had accelerated India’s development and raised the country’s international stature. She also expressed her desire to work with Modi to advance a Free and Open Indo-Pacific and further strengthen the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership.

Prime Minister of Dominica Roosevelt Skerrit described Modi as a friend and thanked him for the friendship and support extended to Dominica. He conveyed his wishes for Modi’s good health, strength and continued success.

South Korean President Lee Jae-myung expressed his deepest respect for Modi’s dedication to improving the lives of Indians. He praised India’s progress in manufacturing and infrastructure and said the two countries would continue working together on growth and innovation under their Special Strategic Partnership.

Grenada Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell also congratulated Modi on 25 years of continuous service and said his country looked forward to strengthening the friendship between India and Grenada.

Former Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić praised Modi for raising India’s standing globally and said the country was “blessed” to have his leadership. He wished the Prime Minister continued good health, strength and success in serving the Indian people.

The messages reflected the breadth of India’s diplomatic engagement, with leaders from Asia, Africa, Europe, the Caribbean and other regions acknowledging Modi’s long tenure and India’s expanding international role.
