New Delhi, 22nd June: In a significant initiative to promote awareness about organ, body, eye and tissue donation, Mata Chanan Devi Hospital (MCDH) and Dadhichi Deh Dan Samiti (DDS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together towards spreading awareness among the public.
Under the collaboration, both organisations will conduct seminars, workshops and awareness programmes for hospital staff, patients, their families and the general public. The initiative aims to address myths and misconceptions surrounding donation and encourage people to pledge for the noble cause.

DDS will play a key role in counselling families and coordinating with government agencies to facilitate donations after a donor’s demise.
Dr. A.C. Shukla, Medical Superintendent of MCDH, said awareness is the only way to bridge the gap between the availability of organs and the growing need for transplants, offering a new hope of life to patients suffering from organ failure.

Dr. Vishal Chadha, General Secretary of DDS, said organ donation must become a continuous social movement and called upon all sections of society to actively participate in making India a healthier and stronger nation.
The MoU was signed by Dr. A.C. Shukla and Dr. Vishal Chadha in the presence of senior doctors of MCDH and office-bearers of DDS. The agreement was witnessed by Anil Tyagi, Security Incharge of MCDH, and Satya Gupta, Vice President of DDS.
Mata Chanan Devi Hospital, located in Janakpuri, New Delhi, is a 210-bed multi-disciplinary super-speciality hospital. Dadhichi Deh Dan Samiti has been working for the past 27 years to create awareness about organ, body and eye donation.
