Ananthapuramu, 1st July: President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday urged students to cultivate the courage to explore new ideas and continuously acquire new knowledge as she addressed the first convocation ceremony of the Central University of Andhra Pradesh (CUAP) in Ananthapuramu.

Describing the inaugural convocation as a defining milestone for the young institution, the President said the university’s long-term vision and commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly quality education, reflect its dedication to inclusive and equitable development. She expressed confidence that the university would emerge as a centre of excellence and contribute significantly to the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

Congratulating the graduating students, Murmu said the convocation marked the culmination of years of hard work, perseverance and dedication, opening new opportunities for their future. She reminded graduates that their achievements were also made possible by the sacrifices of their parents, the guidance of teachers and the support of society, urging them to give back through meaningful contributions in their chosen fields.

Highlighting the rapid pace of technological advancement, the President said learning should not end with earning a degree. She encouraged students to embrace lifelong learning, adapt to emerging technologies and develop the confidence to explore new ideas in an ever-changing world.

Murmu also stressed the importance of ethical values such as honesty, compassion, empathy and respect for nature, saying these principles form the foundation of holistic development and responsible leadership.

She said India’s youth possess the talent, creativity and determination needed to transform challenges into opportunities and play a leading role in building a more inclusive, prosperous and developed nation.
