New Delhi, 5th July: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday expressed grief over the demise of renowned Pandavani singer Tijan Bai, describing her passing as an irreparable loss to India’s art and cultural world.
In a message posted on X, the Prime Minister said Tijan Bai gave the Pandavani folk tradition of Chhattisgarh a distinct global identity through her powerful performances.
Modi said her contribution played a significant role in popularising the traditional storytelling art form across the world and preserving India’s rich cultural heritage.
Expressing condolences, the Prime Minister conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved family and her admirers, saying her artistic legacy would continue to inspire generations.
