New Delhi, 6th July: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday paid tributes to Syama Prasad Mookerjee on his 125th birth anniversary, describing him as a distinguished nation-builder, eminent educationist and visionary leader who dedicated his life to India’s unity, dignity and progress.
In a message posted on X, Modi said Dr. Mookerjee’s contributions to education, industrial development and national integration continue to inspire generations. He said Mookerjee laid the foundations of industrial self-reliance as Industries Minister while promoting innovation, education and traditional livelihoods.
The Prime Minister also recalled Dr. Mookerjee’s humanitarian work during the Bengal Famine and said his unwavering commitment to India’s unity and integrity remains an enduring source of inspiration.
Modi said Dr. Mookerjee’s vision and ideals continue to illuminate India’s path as the country advances towards the goal of a Viksit Bharat.
