New Delhi, 15th July: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Haryana, Chandigarh and Punjab on July 17 to launch development projects worth around ₹26,800 crore, including the flagging off of India’s first hydrogen-powered train between Jind and Sonipat.
At Jind, the Prime Minister will dedicate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth around ₹14,700 crore, including major highway projects and healthcare institutions. He will also lay the foundation stone of the Sikh Museum in Kurukshetra, dedicated to the legacy of the Sikh Gurus and Sikh heritage.
The hydrogen fuel cell-powered train, designed and developed using indigenous technology, will operate with zero carbon emissions, producing only water vapour as a by-product. Featuring a 10-coach configuration and a 3,200 HP propulsion system, it is among the world’s longest and most powerful hydrogen-powered passenger trains.
In Chandigarh, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth over ₹6,600 crore, including the Advanced Mother and Child Centre, Advanced Neurosciences Centre and a 150-bed Critical Care Block at PGIMER. He will also launch road and educational infrastructure projects aimed at improving regional connectivity and academic facilities.
Later, in Jalandhar, Shri Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth over ₹5,470 crore, including 75 redeveloped Amrit Bharat railway stations across 20 states, the Daulatpur Chowk-Kartoli rail line, two new train services and major National Highway projects.
