New Delhi, 19th July: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid rich tributes to Mangal Pandey on his birth anniversary, remembering the iconic revolutionary for his supreme sacrifice and unwavering commitment to the nation’s honour and freedom.
In a message posted on X, the Prime Minister said Mangal Pandey’s courageous life continues to fill every Indian with pride and that his inspiring legacy of patriotism and valour will motivate generations to come.
“Tributes to the great revolutionary Mangal Pandey on his birth anniversary. He dedicated everything to protect the dignity and honour of the motherland. His courageous life fills every Indian with pride even today. His saga of valour, imbued with patriotism, will continue to inspire every generation of the nation,” Modi said.
Mangal Pandey is widely regarded as one of the earliest heroes of India’s freedom struggle. His actions during the 1857 uprising became a symbol of resistance against British colonial rule and continue to be remembered as a defining chapter in India’s fight for independence.
The Prime Minister’s tribute acknowledged Mangal Pandey’s enduring contribution to the nation’s history and reaffirmed the significance of his ideals of courage, sacrifice and patriotism.
