New Delhi, 24th July: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended his best wishes to the Indian contingent participating in the Commonwealth Games Glasgow 2026, expressing confidence that the athletes would compete with passion, determination and a spirit of excellence.
In a post on X as the Games commenced in Glasgow, the Prime Minister said he was confident that Indian athletes would deliver their best performances on the international stage.
“As the Commonwealth #Glasgow2026 Games begin, my best wishes to the Indian contingent,” Modi said.
The Prime Minister said the skills, commitment and dedication displayed by Indian athletes continue to inspire millions across the country.
“I am confident that our athletes will participate in the Games with passion, determination and a spirit of excellence. The skills and dedication of our athletes always inspire countless Indians,” he added.
The Commonwealth Games Glasgow 2026 have officially begun, with athletes from across the Commonwealth competing in multiple sporting disciplines. India has fielded a strong contingent aiming to add to its medal tally at the multi-sport event.
