PM Modi Thanks World Leaders for Independence Day Wishes
Prime Minister expresses gratitude to leaders of Bhutan, Slovakia, Maldives, France and Nepal for their greetings

New Delhi, 15th Aug: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed gratitude to world leaders for their warm wishes on India’s 80th Independence Day, acknowledging congratulatory messages from leaders across the globe.
Responding to Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, PM Modi thanked him for his greetings and described India and Bhutan’s relationship as a “special and enduring partnership”. He said the partnership between the two countries continues to grow stronger.
In response to Slovak President Peter Pellegrini, the Prime Minister expressed India’s desire to further strengthen the Comprehensive Partnership between India and Slovakia.
PM Modi also thanked Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu for his Independence Day wishes, expressing hope that the bonds of friendship between India and the Maldives would continue to deepen.
Responding to French President Emmanuel Macron, the Prime Minister thanked him for his warm wishes, referring to him as a friend.
The Prime Minister also acknowledged greetings from Nepal Prime Minister Balendra Shah, saying India remains committed to strengthening the multifaceted and long-standing civilisational ties between the two countries for the mutual prosperity and well-being of their people.
PM Modi separately thanked Rabi Lamichhane of Nepal for his wishes and reaffirmed India’s commitment to strengthening the deep bonds of friendship between India and Nepal for mutual progress and prosperity.
The messages reflected India’s engagement with neighbouring countries as well as key international partners on the occasion of the country’s 80th Independence Day.
