Rajeshwari Sharma to Head J&K Kabaddi POSH Panel
Former kabaddi player appointed chairperson to strengthen athlete safety and safe-sport practices
- Rajeshwari Sharma has been appointed Chairperson of the POSH Committee of the J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association.
- The committee will focus on prevention, awareness and redressal of sexual harassment complaints.
- Four other members have been appointed to the panel.

Jammu, 27th Aug: The J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association has appointed former kabaddi player Rajeshwari Sharma as Chairperson of its Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Committee, in a move aimed at strengthening athlete welfare and safe-sport practices.
The appointment was made by General Secretary Dr. Kuldeep Kumar Gupta in line with guidelines of the Ministry of Sports, Government of India, and the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India.
Sharma, who holds an MBA degree, brings experience as a former kabaddi player along with her academic and professional background. The Association said her experience would support the effective functioning of the committee.
The panel also includes Bandana Sharma, Lecturer in Physical Education; Radha Bakshi, retired Physical Education Master; Mithali Mamhas, Physical Education Teacher; and Neelam Sambyal, former bank manager.
The committee will work on awareness, prevention and appropriate redressal of sexual harassment-related matters involving athletes, coaches, officials, support staff and other stakeholders. It will also promote professional conduct and workplace dignity while ensuring confidentiality, sensitivity and due process in handling complaints.
The Association said the constitution of the committee reflects its commitment to creating a sporting environment free from harassment, discrimination and intimidation.
