NEET-PG 2026 Held Nationwide With Tight Security
Over 2.65 lakh candidates appear across 1,111 centres; Jaipur exam for 2,445 candidates rescheduled to September 5

New Delhi, 30th Aug: The NEET-PG 2026 examination was conducted nationwide on August 30 with extensive security, technology and monitoring arrangements, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) said.
The examination was scheduled for 2,73,096 candidates at 1,111 centres across 339 cities, covering all 36 States and Union Territories. According to NBEMS, 2,65,980 candidates appeared, while the examination was successfully completed for approximately 2,63,535 candidates.
A total of 2,527 faculty members were deployed as Independent Appraisers, while more than 700 senior faculty members, including Deans, Directors, Medical Superintendents and senior professors, were assigned as Flying Squad members.
The examination was monitored through 16 NBEMS Regional Command Centres and live CCTV surveillance. A dedicated team of 190 personnel from NBEMS and TCS monitored the centres in real time from the NBEMS Command Centre at its headquarters in Dwarka.
Officials from NBEMS, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, BEL, ECIL and TCS maintained continuous oversight of the examination process.
To strengthen examination security and prevent impersonation, Aadhaar-based authentication of candidates was also conducted at examination centres.
Jaipur centres face technical disruption
While the examination was completed for the overwhelming majority of candidates, a technical disruption affected 2,445 candidates at the iON Digital Zone iDZ Sitapura centres in Jaipur.
According to NBEMS, the examination could not be completed at TC Nos. 41682 and 41683 because of internal power supply issues at the test centres, attributable to TCS Ltd., the examination conducting agency.
NBEMS expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and said the affected candidates would be given a fair opportunity to appear for the examination.
The examination for these 2,445 candidates is scheduled for September 5, 2026, at 3 PM in Jaipur, Rajasthan, according to the release.
NBEMS said the nationwide conduct of NEET-PG 2026 reflected coordination among examination authorities, medical institutions, faculty, security agencies, technology teams and other stakeholders.
