Rajnath, Yogi Launch ₹100 Crore Lucknow Projects
14 development projects target water supply, education, healthcare, sports, sanitation and civic amenities

Lucknow, 30th Aug: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday performed Bhoomi Pujan for 14 development projects worth over ₹100 crore at Lucknow Cantonment.
The projects, including two being implemented in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh government, are aimed at strengthening water supply, education, healthcare, sports, sanitation, parking and other civic amenities in the cantonment.
Among the projects are an AI-based Solid Waste Management Plant, Multi-Utility Sports Complex, Modern Crematorium, 1,500 KL Underground Reservoir, replacement of old water supply pipelines and eight tubewells with SCADA automation.
The package also includes overhead tanks with SCADA, a special school for differently abled children, additional classrooms and toilets at RA Bazar Madhyamik Vidyalaya and Rainbow Model School, a multi-level robotic car parking and commercial complex, and legacy waste bio-mining and bio-remediation.
The two projects being implemented in collaboration with the state government are the RA Bazar City Polyclinic and Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Coaching Centre.
Rajnath Singh and Yogi Adityanath also listened to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat programme along with around 4,000 people.
Addressing the gathering, Rajnath Singh said the projects represent a comprehensive effort to improve civic infrastructure and public services in Lucknow Cantonment.
“The development of Lucknow Cantonment is closely linked with the progress of Lucknow. Coordinated efforts by the Centre and the State can accelerate development and good governance,” he said.
Rajnath said the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047 goes beyond large infrastructure projects and modern buildings. He said it also means quality education for children, clean drinking water for households, opportunities for youth to participate in sports and ensuring that differently abled children are not left behind.
The Defence Minister also referred to the renaming of several markets in Lucknow Cantonment. Royal Artillery Bazar has been renamed Ekta Bazar, British Cavalry Bazar as Uda Devi Bazar, British Infantry Bazar as Matadin Valmiki Bazar, another British Infantry Bazar as Mangal Pandey Bazar, and Kanedy Market as Atal Bihari Vajpayee Market.
He said the initiative seeks to connect future generations with India’s heritage and inspire them towards national service.
UP Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Brajesh Pathak, Minister of State Asim Arun, Central Command GOC-in-Chief Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta, Rajya Sabha MP Dinesh Sharma, Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharwal and senior officials from the Defence Forces, Central and state governments and Lucknow Cantonment Board attended the programme.
