Corporate Mitra Course Begins with 2,879 Learners
New MCA-backed programme aims to build a certified workforce supporting MSME compliance

New Delhi, 5th Sept: The first batch of the Corporate Mitra Course has commenced with 2,879 learners registered, marking the beginning of the structured learning and capability-development phase of the programme.
The initiative has been launched by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) and the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICoAI), under the guidance of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA).
The Corporate Mitra initiative was announced in the Union Budget 2026-27 to create a pool of trained and certified paraprofessionals who can support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in managing business and regulatory compliances.
The programme combines the professional expertise of ICAI, ICSI and ICoAI with technology and academic support from IIT Madras, IIT Madras Pravartak and SWAYAM Plus.
Speaking at the launch event at the ICAI Head Office in New Delhi, MCA Joint Secretary Anita Shah Akella said Corporate Mitra seeks to make compliance less intimidating and knowledge more accessible for entrepreneurs. She said the initiative aims to transform compliance from a burden into an enabler of trust, transparency, accountability and orderly growth.
The 12-month course is divided into two stages. The first six months include around 150 hours of structured academic learning through recorded video lectures. This will be followed by six months of on-the-job training in professional firms of members of ICAI, ICSI and ICoAI.
The academic programme is designed to provide learners with a comprehensive understanding of MSME operations and support requirements. The digital learning platform will include expert-led lectures, reference material, assessments, announcements, FAQs and discussion forums.
The course is intended to develop a skilled cadre of certified paraprofessionals who can provide affordable professional support to MSMEs, supporting ease of doing business, employment generation and inclusive economic growth.
