PM Modi, Vietnam PM Discuss Regional, Global Issues
Leaders review enhanced strategic partnership and exchange views on regional and global issues

New Delhi, 12th Sept: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi on September 12.
Modi welcomed Vietnam’s participation in the BRICS Summit as a Partner Country. The meeting provided an opportunity for the two leaders to review progress in bilateral relations and discuss ways to further strengthen the partnership.
India and Vietnam had elevated their bilateral ties to an Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during the state visit of Vietnamese Communist Party General Secretary and President To Lam to India in May 2026.
The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual importance and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening India-Vietnam relations.
India and Vietnam share a longstanding friendship rooted in shared civilisational heritage, mutual trust and understanding. Vietnam remains a key pillar of India’s Act East Policy and an important partner in India’s broader engagement with Southeast Asia.
