Indore, 14th Sept: Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava has been selected to participate in the United States’ prestigious International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) as a political representative of India.

The two-week exchange programme, conducted by the US Department of State, will take Bhargava to Washington, Boston, Florida and other locations from September 14. During the programme, he will participate in meetings, workshops and study visits focused on governance, artificial intelligence, technological innovation and administrative challenges facing future cities.

Bhargava’s selection has been described as a recognition of Indore’s efforts in digital governance and modern urban administration. During his visit, he is expected to interact with policymakers and experts on issues related to the development and administration of future cities.

The newspaper report notes that several prominent Indian leaders, including former Prime Ministers Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Indira Gandhi, former President Pratibha Patil, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Nitin Nabin and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, have previously participated in the programme.
