Chouhan said Andhra Pradesh was initially eligible for around 76,000 houses, but the allocation was increased to 3 lakh following Chief Minister Naidu’s request to provide permanent homes to poor families.
He further assured that additional houses could be sanctioned after completion of the first phase. According to Chouhan, the Centre could provide another 3 lakh houses, followed by a further 3 lakh, taking the potential requirement addressed to 9 lakh houses.
