WASHINGTON – Taiwan Airlines EVA Air on Sunday announced that it is set to become the first Taiwan-based airline to operate direct flights from Delhi to Taipei, with officials stated the service will launch on December 1.
The service will operate five times a week, will cater to the tourism industry and strengthen connectivity between India and Taiwan.
Travelers will have business- and economy-class options on the Delhi-Taipei direct flight, which is expected to serve growing business across different domains.
The direct flight is expected to give access to the Indian passengers to airline’s network across different zones, including North- East, South East Asia, Europe, and China etc.
A senior official of the airline shared during an event here that the initiative is not merely about directly connecting Delhi with Taipei, but also about providing a gateway for travelers here for their onward journey to North America and other international destinations.
The airline also shared that it would like to coordinate with the country’s travel associates to better develop the new route, creating avenues for tourism and positive exchanges between the markets.
Taiwan is emerging as a popular, non-traditional tourism destination when it comes to Indian travel enthusiasts. It was earlier regarded mostly as a hub for the tech- industry and corporate travelers.
According to reports, Taiwan is also considered a safe and warm destination for solo travelers.
