Hindan, 8th Oct: Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh on Thursday said the IAF is alert, committed and ready to meet any challenge, asserting that its operational capabilities are growing in the right direction.

Addressing the 94th Air Force Day celebrations at Hindan Air Base, Air Chief Marshal Singh said the IAF had evolved over nine decades into an exceptional, capable, network-centric and multi-domain force ranked among the finest in the world.

He paid tribute to air warriors who had laid down their lives in service of the nation and said conflicts in different parts of the world had demonstrated the importance of air power in protecting a nation’s interests.

Referring to Operation Sindoor, the Air Chief highlighted the speed of the IAF’s combat operations.

“Our operational capabilities are growing in the right direction,” he said, adding that the force would leave no stone unturned to live up to the expectations placed upon it and would strive to exceed them.

With Air Chief Marshal Singh scheduled to retire on October 31, he described his tenure as IAF chief as “my biggest fortune” and said it was a proud moment for him.

The Air Force Day celebrations featured a ceremonial parade and a display of some of the IAF’s key combat assets. The three service chiefs, senior military officials and several former IAF chiefs attended the event.

Air Chief Marshal Singh arrived at the parade venue in a vintage car dating back to the 1960s, while three helicopters flew past in the ceremonial ‘Dhwaj’ formation.

The IAF also showcased major platforms and weapon systems on the tarmac, including Rafale, Su-30 MKI and Jaguar fighter aircraft, along with LCH Prachand and ALH Dhruv helicopters and critical weapon and air-defence systems.

The display offered a glimpse of the force’s combat platforms and its expanding capabilities across multiple domains as the IAF marked 94 years of service.
