Varanasi, 8th Oct: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Nitin Nabin offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi on Thursday and said BJP workers remain in an election mode throughout the year rather than becoming active only during poll seasons.
Speaking to reporters after seeking the blessings of Baba Vishwanath, Nabin said visiting Kashi had a deep personal and cultural significance for him, particularly as someone from Bihar.
“Those who come here bow down with devotion. Coming to Kashi has been a deep tradition for us in Bihar. I have had the opportunity to visit Kashi several times and seek Baba’s blessings,” he said.
Nabin also praised the redevelopment of the Kashi Vishwanath corridor and congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the project.
‘We don’t come only in election season’
Nabin said BJP workers remain active throughout the year and described continuous public engagement as part of the party’s organisational culture.
“For BJP workers, every day is election day. We are not those who come only during the season; we work throughout the year,” he said.
His remarks came during his Varanasi visit, where he has been holding organisational meetings and interacting with party workers and leaders.
Raises infiltration issue
Nabin also raised the issue of alleged illegal infiltration, claiming that infiltrators were taking away the rights and opportunities of Indian citizens.
“We will not allow infiltrators to take away the rights of the people of India,” he said.
He also criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his allegations concerning the Election Commission and electoral processes.
Referring to elections in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, Nabin argued that the same Election Commission conducts elections in different states and questioned what he described as attempts to cast doubt on the electoral process.
Kashi remains central to BJP outreach
Nabin’s visit combined religious engagement with political and organisational messaging. His visit to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple came amid the BJP’s continuing organisational activities in Uttar Pradesh.
He also underlined the cultural and historical importance of Kashi, describing the city as a major centre of faith and heritage.
The BJP president’s remarks reflected the party’s emphasis on maintaining an active organisational presence beyond election periods and keeping its workers engaged with political and public issues throughout the year.
