PM Modi Extends Mahalaya Greetings
Prime Minister invokes Maa Durga’s blessings, wishing happiness, compassion, hope, peace and prosperity for all.

New Delhi, 10th Oct: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday extended greetings to people on the auspicious occasion of Mahalaya, praying for Maa Durga’s blessings to bring happiness, compassion and hope to society.
In a message shared on X, the Prime Minister wished peace and prosperity for everyone as people marked the occasion, which holds deep cultural and religious significance, particularly in West Bengal and among Bengali communities.
“Shubho Mahalaya! We seek the blessings of Maa Durga. May the blessings fill our society with happiness, compassion and hope. May there be peace and prosperity all around,” Modi wrote.
The Prime Minister also shared the greeting in Bengali, conveying the same message of happiness, empathy, hope and collective well-being.
Mahalaya marks the beginning of the countdown to Durga Puja and is traditionally associated with invoking Goddess Durga. The occasion carries special significance for devotees preparing to welcome the annual festival celebrating the victory of good over evil.
Modi’s message highlighted the values of compassion, harmony and prosperity, extending his wishes to people across the country on the occasion.
