New Delhi/Washington, 24th April: Chief of Army Staff Upendra Dwivedi has been inducted into the International Hall of Fame of the US Army War College in Pennsylvania, becoming the third Indian Army chief to receive the honour.

Dwivedi, an alumnus of the prestigious institution, joins the ranks of former chiefs V K Singh and Bikram Singh, who were previously conferred with the recognition.

During his visit, the Army chief addressed faculty members and international officers, focusing on leadership, professional military education and evolving global security dynamics. He also participated in academic discussions and reviewed research projects as part of the institution’s scholars programme.

Earlier, Dwivedi began his US visit in Hawaii, where he was accorded a Guard of Honour at Fort Shafter, headquarters of the US Army Pacific. He held discussions with senior US military leaders, including General Ronald P. Clark, on enhancing defence cooperation and advancing shared strategic interests in the Indo-Pacific region.

The visit also included an aerial tour of Oahu island, providing insights into operational readiness and training systems.

The engagement follows recent visits by Indian Air Force chief Amar Preet Singh and Navy chief Dinesh Tripathi, reflecting continued high-level military exchanges between India and the United States.
