Mumbai, 17th Oct: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has demolished portions of Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn’s bungalow in Mumbai’s Juhu area, days after issuing a stop-work notice over alleged unauthorised construction.

The 7,802-square-foot property is located in Kapole Co-operative Housing Society. According to civic officials, internal alterations, partition walls, window modifications and other structural work were being carried out without the required municipal permissions.

The BMC issued a notice on September 10 under Section 354A of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, directing an immediate halt to the work and seeking valid documentation. Officials said construction activity continued despite the notice, prompting the civic body to intervene and remove the unauthorised portions.

Visuals from the site showed officials using a hammer to break down sections of the structure. Further details about the extent of the demolition were not immediately available.

Devgn is also facing scrutiny over his appearance in a Vimal Elaichi advertisement. The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued show-cause notices to Devgn, Shah Rukh Khan and Tiger Shroff over concerns that the advertisement could potentially serve as surrogate promotion for a banned product, according to officials.

The developments come as Devgn’s latest instalment in the Drishyam crime-thriller franchise continues its theatrical run. The third and final film, directed by Abhishek Pathak, was released on October 2 and has reportedly crossed the ₹400-crore mark at the global box office. The film has received largely positive reviews, with critics highlighting its performances, suspense and plot twists.
