Betul, 18th June: President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday graced the programme ‘Empowerment of Tribal Society by Spiritual Awakening’ organised by Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya in Betul and said that a balance between development and traditional values forms the foundation of a strong and prosperous society.

Addressing the gathering, the President said that in the modern world marked by increasing consumption and rapid change, spiritual purity has become essential for creating a lifestyle that respects natural resources, promotes equality and ensures long-term sustainability. She said such initiatives have become more relevant at a time when the world is facing rising stress and conflicts.

President Murmu noted that tribal communities naturally follow values closely linked to spirituality through their deep connection with nature. She appreciated the efforts of the Brahma Kumaris organisation in working with tribal communities across the country and promoting social and spiritual awakening.

She said the empowerment of any section of society cannot be confined to economic progress alone. True empowerment comes when individuals develop self-confidence, self-respect and awareness while fulfilling their responsibilities towards society. Spiritual awakening, she said, helps people discover their inner strength and move towards positive and meaningful goals.

The President stated that meaningful development must remain connected with cultural roots and traditional values. Only a holistic approach based on harmony, equality and environmental consciousness can create a truly inclusive society.

Urging citizens to work together towards the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047, President Murmu said spirituality, social harmony, environmental protection and human welfare should remain the guiding principles of India’s development journey.
