New Delhi, 23rd June: Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh on Monday launched the IAS e-Civil List 2026, highlighting the role of technology-driven databases in improving governance, talent identification and effective administrative planning.
Launched at Kartavya Bhawan, the digital Civil List provides comprehensive information on IAS officers, including their batch, cadre, present posting, educational qualifications, pay level and date of superannuation.
Dr Singh said the e-Civil List has evolved from a simple directory into a dynamic governance tool that enables governments and institutions to identify officers based on expertise, experience and professional background for better policy implementation.
He said the digital initiative aligns with the vision of Digital India by improving accessibility, transparency and administrative efficiency while reducing dependence on printed publications.
The e-IAS Civil List 2026 is the 71st edition of the Civil List and the sixth edition released as an e-book. According to the Department of Personnel and Training, India had 5,755 IAS officers in service as of January 1, 2026, against an authorised cadre strength of 7,026.
