Fame India Unveils 100 Best Police Chiefs of India; Top 25 to Be Honoured

New Delhi, 14th Aug: Fame India–Asia Post has announced its list of India’s 100 Best Police Chiefs, recognising police officers from across the country for their leadership, effective law-and-order management, crime-control initiatives and citizen-centric policing that have strengthened public confidence and contributed to safer communities.

The survey honours district police chiefs and heads of major police units serving as Superintendents of Police (SPs), Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), Police Commissioners and officers holding equivalent responsibilities. According to the organisers, the initiative aims to acknowledge exemplary police leadership while showcasing successful models of public-oriented policing from across India.

Explaining the rationale behind the survey, Fame India Editor Dhiraj Kumar said that a secure society forms the foundation of education, business, investment and overall development. He noted that the organisation’s commitment to constructive journalism includes recognising administrators and public servants whose work has made a meaningful impact on society.

He said identifying only 100 officers from the large number of district police chiefs and police unit heads across India was a challenging process that involved extensive evaluation and multiple stages of assessment.

The survey evaluated officers on a broad range of parameters, including crime control, improvement in law and order, citizen-friendly policing, leadership, innovation, transparency, accountability, decision-making ability, crisis management, interpersonal skills, public relations, expert opinion, administrative inputs, media reports and public perception.

The organisers stated that official records, administrative sources, publicly available information, media reports, expert assessments and field-level feedback formed the basis of the evaluation before the final list was prepared.

Fame India Managing Editor Anil Singh said the assessment process would continue and that the performance of the selected officers would remain under regular review. He announced that the next phase of the survey would identify the Top 25 Police Chiefs of India from among the 100 selected officers. These officers will be featured in an upcoming edition of Fame India and honoured for their outstanding contribution to policing.

He added that Asia Post’s participation in the survey helped broaden the evaluation process by bringing a more comprehensive and multi-dimensional perspective.

The list includes officers from virtually every IPS cadre across the country, including AGMUT, Andhra Pradesh, Assam-Meghalaya, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur-Tripura, Nagaland, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.

Among the prominent officers featured are Dr. GV Sundeep Chakravarthy (SSP Srinagar), Navjot Simi (SP Arwal), Simala Prasad (Madhya Pradesh cadre), Dr. Harshadkumar K. Patel (Ahmedabad), Gurpreet Singh Bhullar (SSP Amritsar), Dr. Amrita Duhen (SP Udaipur), Akash Patel (Chandauli), Aparna Rajat Kaushik (Mirzapur), Prachi Singh (Ambedkar Nagar), Papiya Sultana (SP Medinipur) and several other officers representing police leadership across India’s diverse states and Union Territories.

According to the organisers, the survey seeks not only to recognise individual excellence but also to promote best practices in policing, encourage innovation in public safety and strengthen citizen confidence in law enforcement institutions across the country.
